The Flagstaff Veterans Resource Center operates a VA Supportive Services For Veteran Families (SSVF) grant. We rapidly rehouse homeless veteran households, and we prevent veteran households from becoming homeless.

Assistance is provided to low-income veterans (and their families, if applicable) who are living outdoors, in a vehicle, in a shelter, moving friend-to-friend, or in housing that they rent or own but are facing eviction or foreclosure. Every veteran is given a case manager who meets with the vet weekly to help the vet understand his/her situation and its root causes, make a plan to resolve the crisis, and find resources (other local agencies) to assist in that plan. Our case managers are mobile and can meet a vet anywhere he/she chooses, throughout Coconino, Navajo, Apache and Gila Counties (our other Arizona sites cover Mohave and Yavapai Counties). Cities served include Flagstaff, Williams, Page, Tuba City, Winslow, Holbrook, Show Low, Window Rock, Payson, Globe and more!

VRC can provide temporary financial assistance (payments directly to a landlord, utility company, etc.) to serve as a bridge until the housing crisis is resolved. Food, clothing, hygiene items, and a welcoming place for a vet to have a cup of coffee and use a computer/Internet are always available. Vets can get started with us by visiting during office hours (no appointment necessary) or calling 928-266-1984.

Donors and volunteers are always welcome to join in our effort to end veteran homelessness.
